Malaria
Mozambique
In June 2010, C-Change began working in Mozambique in partnership with the Programa Inter-Religious Contra a Malaria (PIRCOM), a multi-denominational, faith-based NGO, to support malaria and water-borne disease prevention.
The partnership was formalized with the signing of an MOU between C-Change and PIRCOM. C-Change is also providing technical assistance (TA) in organizational development to PIRCOM.
Malaria Prevention Campaign Tools
The Malaria Prevention Campaign, launched in Oromia Region of Ethiopia by C-Change, assists communities to take specific actions to combat malaria. The focus is around small, doable actions that families can carry out to protect themselves against malaria. The community volunteers under direction from the local health workers support their communities, families, and schools to take the actions necessary to prevent malaria. Materials and tools developed by C-Change for the campaign are discussed below:
C-Change Signs MOU with PIRCOM in Mozambique
PIRCOM and C-Change signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on June 8, 2010 in Maputo, Mozambique that supports USAID’s efforts to control malaria and water-borne diseases.
Over the next two years, with assistance from the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), C-Change will partner with PIRCOM, a faith-based organization, to strengthen its organizational capacity to carry out social and behavior change communication.
